Here is a prime example of one of her longest running friendships...Miss Barbara Stanwyck.

Joan lovingly referred to her as , "Missy" and Barbara returned the affection by calling Joan  "Miss C".

The story of their 50 year friendship to follow , all I will say for now is be a friend , the reward is greater than you can imagine!
